Running for Freedom
I want to share something personal with you.
This year, I’m taking on an ultramarathon challenge that feels deeply connected to the work we do at The Peace Room and to women whose lives have been impacted by the justice system.
Over the past three years, I’ve worked closely with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women. Again and again, I’ve seen that real change doesn’t begin by fixing the outside. It begins when someone feels safe in their body, processes trauma, and reconnects with their authentic self.
That belief is guiding what I’m building this year - and even how I’m training.
Beginning in March, I’ll be running the first in a series of endurance events throughout 2026, culminating in a 100-mile ultramarathon honoring the 100th anniversary of Route 66.
This journey is about more than running.
I’m raising funds for the Inner Peace Training Program for system-impacted women, in partnership with the Idaho Justice Project — a nonpartisan nonprofit organization working to improve Idaho’s criminal justice system.
Each mile represents endurance, transformation, and new beginnings.
Just as Route 66 symbolizes passage and resilience, this run honors the long, courageous journeys of women rebuilding their lives after system involvement. Every step supports emotional healing, Reiki training, and tools that help women reclaim stability, dignity, and inner peace.
Fundraising Goal: $20,000
The goal of my fundraising campaign is to raise $20,000 to support the Inner Peace Training Program and the broader work that Idaho Justice Project does every day. Your donation to the IJP is tax-deductible.

How is it Used?
The program is customized to meet women in three distinct phases of their justice-system experience:
-
Incarceration
-
Parole preparation
-
Release transition
Each module is adapted to support the unique emotional and practical needs present in these stages.
How is it Different?
Inner Peace Training is different from traditional education or reentry programming because it focuses on internal transformation, not simply external behavior change.
This approach supports long-term stability by strengthening the internal foundation necessary for lasting change.
Why Does this Matter?
System-impacted women often carry chronic emotional pain, suppressed trauma responses, and disconnection from safe self-awareness.
Inner Peace Training provides a supportive, structured pathway for healing that honors dignity, builds confidence, and equips participants with tools that can positively affect families and communities for years to come.
Taken together, this can reduce recidivism.
